Dear Members and Friends of MOVITE,

Spring is finally here…I think? The snow outside my window is throwing me off a little. Of course, with the changing of the seasons means the start of construction season. As professionals, we all know how that can impact our lives….so drive safe!

I want to first say thank you to Cheryl Lambrecht, our current Past President, for the many years of dedicated service to the MOVITE Board of Directors. She has been a tireless leader for the past eight years and has earned a well-deserved reprieve. If you see Cheryl, please thank her for all she has done for MOVITE.

Much Activity!

As you read this edition of the MOVITE Journal, you will see there is no shortage of activity within our many Chapters, the Section and the Midwestern District. I encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to get some technical training, network with colleagues and, most importantly, relax and have fun.

I hope to see all of you at the upcoming Spring MOVITE Meeting in Kansas City, MO April 24-26th. The Local Arrange-ments Committee has put together a great event with our partner KC Scout.

Also, mark your calendars for the Fall MOVITE Annual Meeting which will be held in Des Moines, IA September 18-20th. The Iowa DOT Traffic Safety Forum will be held in conjunction with the event.

Step Up and Be Recognized!

We are looking for new leaders to serve as a new Board Director and State Directors for Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Please give some serious consideration to serving on the MOVITE Board.

And don’t forget to nominate a fellow MOVITE member for one of our four MOVITE Membership Awards. If you know of someone deserving of one of these awards, contact me and I can help you submit your nomination.

As it has been for over 60 years, MOVITE’s success is a reflection of the active role of our membership. MOVITE has become the envy of other ITE Sections across the country. I want to thank all of your for your individual contributions to our industry and to the continued success of MOVITE.
