A Message from our President
May 1, 2008
Happy May Day!
Just a few weeks ago MOVITE members converged on Tulsa and we had a fantastic meeting. The location was great, the technical presentations were excellent and as always there was plenty of opportunity for networking and catching up with old friend as well as making some new ones. Special thanks to the local arrangements committee led by Mark Brown – you all did a great job!
The LOCATE Chapter continues to press forward with the Make a Difference project in the Eastern Nebraska – Western Iowa area for 2008. Our MAD Committee is committed to giving presentations on safe driving habits for teens at local High Schools with the intention of saving lives and sharing a bit about the transportation engineering profession. I’ve got to tell you that involvement with the MAD volunteer program at the chapter level is not quite what I had hoped, but hey, that’s okay. All programs have to start somewhere. LOCATE may be running the pilot program and if it’s meant to be we will know it from how well it is received in Iowa and Nebraska. Then in 2009 other Chapters can pick it up too so long as we have champions step forward to organize and lead.
Remember the Board restructuring we have been talking about? You will be seeing some email messages on this soon as well as some additional information in the upcoming Journal. Change is afoot.
Thanks for taking the time to visit MOVITE Online. We will talk again soon,

Matt Selinger
2008 MOVITE President
